Secret Elopement
This elopement was my first wedding since lockdown and it made it even more special as the bride and groom's wedding was a secret and it felt magical and full of love. Plans for a big wedding had been stopped with Covid so they got married anyway, just the two of them and will tell everyone next year when they hopefully will have a big celebration with all their family and friends.
They had hired a house with a fantastic view over Onetangi Beach and had the ceremony on the lawn with the stunning view right behind them. As it was just the two of them the celebrant brought along two friends to be witness's. It was a day that we were getting sun and showers but we got the most gorgeous light for the ceremony as it came out sunny with the dark sky behind.
After the ceremony we headed down to the beach for a portrait session. Onetangi looks great at any time of the year and in any light but we had the sun come out and give us glowing sun and long shadows.
As Paula and Alan had booked into Mudbrick for a special dinner I took them there early so we could get some more photographs in the Mudbrick gardens and on the terrace for the late sun.
